Sewing needles found in sweet buns in Saitama
SAITAMA —
Three sewing needles were found in three sweet buns sold at a drugstore in June and July in Kawaguchi City, Saitama Prefecture, police said on Wednesday. Three people bought the products but none of them were injured.
According to police investigations, the needles were found in buns bought by a 72-year-old man on June 23, a 14-year-old boy on July 6 and a 36-year-old woman on Tuesday at the same store. The needles are about 3 cm long.
Police said the buns were made by the same maker at factories in Chiba and Ibaraki Prefectures.
In March, a sewing needle was found at another supermarket about 500 meters away from the drugstore. Police are investigating the relationships between these cases.
