Don't want to be callous, but does she can't really think that her mother's still alive. I don't know how old her mother was when they were abducted 30 years ago but assuming she was at least 20 when she had her daughter wouldn't she be easily pushing 100 by now? Anyone have any stats on life-expectancy in the DPRK? Just wishful thinking Soga-san...

i guess she understands that her mother may have passed away, and that what she means is that she wants to see her - even if its to say goodbye at her grave...

Her mother was 46 years old in 1978 when the two of them were abducted in 1978. Which would make the mother 76 if she is still alive.

Thanks for the clarification. Definitely should have had more coffee this morning. So, forgive my ignorance, but mother-daughter were abducted together 30 years ago and they haven't seen eachother since then? Hope the best for Soga but I can't imagine the odds are in her favor that her mother's still alive...

Anyone who has lost a mother must have the feeling of being like an orphan. If she is not alive (as probably is the case) someone should be held accountable for her murder...

Not only should someone be held accountable for murder if her mother is no longer alive, but many should be held accountable for kidnapping, imprisonment, and slavery. Issue an INTERPOL arrest warrant for the "Great Leader" himself!
