Some papers have called this a deliberate snub, as she's made herself available for other visiting royals including Charles and Camellia. The critics in two major Japanese papers say she's also spending more time at restaurants and friends outside the palace walls with much more frequency. If it's true I cannot say but that's what some reliable papers are printing. The rightists have gone further to also imply that "the Imperial Household isn't reliant upon any individual and that should one member (Masako for sure) be unfit for the task, then they could be dispensed with and the institution should continue it's voyage into the future." sic.
I'm like 'schoolboy' up there, what exactly does Masaka do all day?? Sleep? Send emails through keitai? Does she have a personal keitai? Watch t.v.? I wonder if they have satellite t.v. in their place. If so, what do they put as the address when having to register for it....questions questions questions.
I think the whole King, emperor stuff is something from another era that now serves no real purpose in the 21st Century, but use a lot of taxes to let a few individuals live the good life. I really do not care what Masako sama does or not do.
The family and Masako obviously do not get along. Her years in the United States have made her less Japanese and more American in both thinking and preferences.

Poor Masako. They wouldn't even let her out of her cell just to have dinner. What did they feed her? A sandwich.
