'Statues of Buddha' exhibition to be held at Maruzen in Marunouchi

TOKYO —

The seventh “Statues of Buddha” exhibition will be held at Maruzen in Marunouchi’s Oazo Building, under the theme “The Warmth of Wood,” from July 8-21.

About 120 wooden Buddha statues and wooden crafts created by Japanese artists will be on display — all for sale to the public. Many of wooden Buddha statues, which include Amitabha, Mahaavairocana, and the thousand-armed Sahasrabhuja Aaryaavalokitezvara, are small-sized and compact enough to display in homes. The statues on sale range from about 5,000 yen to 100,000 yen each.
