Student attempts hydrogen sulfide gas suicide at Kobe International University

A 20-year-old male student attempted to kill himself with hydrogen sulfide gas on the campus of Kobe International University in Hyogo Prefecture on Monday afternoon. The man was taken to hospital and remains in a critical condition, police said Tuesday.
According to police and the fire department, a university faculty member noticed sulfureous fumes coming from a toilet for men on the 4th floor of a campus building around 3:40 p.m., and called the fire department. Other staff and students found the student unconscious at the entrance of the toilet.
Police said about 100 people on the campus were evacuated, 20 of them saying that they felt unwell.

It's not killing himself so much as releasing lethal fumes that can easily kill other people. You need a chemist and sophisticated equipment to make a toxic nerve gas like sarin, but hydrogen sulfide can be produced from household detergents in a bucket, and it's nearly as lethal.
