    But Ive read that if you are a single parent father you dont receive any benefits. Only if you are a mother. This is coming from a Japanese father.

    Single parent benefits are only paid to mothers!!!! No way, that can't be true can it?

    Desperately trying to find his beloved children who've been abducted from him for the mother-only subsidy, presumably.

    Well, OK, that might be a bit of an exaggeration, but one of the 'left-behind' fathers in the news these days has claimed that when his wife died, her parents managed to get custody of his child and keep the kid from him in part because they wanted a subsidy like this one.

    yup, in japan only mothers get subsidies. Nothing for single fathers.
