The remains of three people were found after a car was seen burning in Tama, Tokyo, on Sunday night, police said Monday.

At around 6:20 p.m., flames were seen coming from the car in a parking lot in Tama's Karakida area, Sankei Shimbun reported. It took firefighters about one hour to extinguish the fire.

The body of an unidentified man was found beside the car while the bodies of two unidentified persons were in the back seat of the car. Their gender could not be determined, police said.

Police suspect suicide as a gasoline container with its lid opened was found in the car.

Or, the lid was open and someone happened to be smoking inside.

Suiicde involving three people? If that's true then it's either a suicide pact or a murder-suicide then.

... Or another three protesting the government, using self immolation as a shock tactic?

It seems more like a murder suicide to me, but that is just speculation.

Theres somethjng more going on here.

One possibility is that it was a suicide pact made by three people who met online, which is, unfortunately, quite common in Japan. But it looks like the guy couldn't stay put and got out of the car while on fire.

A group suicide? Or accidental deaths? Judging from the situation, I think the chances are very high that they committed a group suicide. In any case, we have to wait for the results of further police investigation. RIP.

Pssst .... Whatever you do, don't mention the suicides by Japanese citizens concerned with Abes constitution tinkering, you know... The ones that happened last year and JT (and whoever sponsors them) , would rather you forget.

Moderator: Please do not be so obsessed with the prime minister. Do not post this again. It is irrelevant.

Accidentally setting off a can of gasoline while lighting or smoking a cigarette seems a much more likely cause than three people in a pact to choose a particularly painful death.

Unless they find marks of violence on two of the bodies.

Unless it was a metal can, I call fabrication.
