Oh well! If you want nice, sunny weather go to HAWAII! Mexico! Spain! Not Tohoku, right?

This whole Japanese system of "declaring a beginning or an end to the rainy season" is just plain nuts.T hey always seem to get it wrong. Either is doesnt hardly rain at all during the "rainy season" or else it buckets out of the heavens before, after and during it. Making inane "pronouncements" about its beginning or end is just silly nonsense. Does anyone take a blind bit of notice of their stupid announcements anyway? I certainly dont - I just look out my windonw and decide wheteher I need to take a brolly or not. Nuts, completely nuts!

Now we are back to normality, a country should have 4 seasons, for japan that means spring, rainy, fall and winter. I just pray that we won't get the same amount of snow than rain this winter.

Agree that the announcements are always a bit nutty. They invariably announce a end to the rainy season on one day, and the next day gives you identical weather. It makes me think that there are too many people down at the Bureau of Meteorology.

With regard to the so-called "cool summer," it will be interesting to see how badly the annual rice harvest is impacted.
