Toyota to conduct spring traffic safety campaign

AICHI —

Toyota Motor Corp announced Wednesday, along with a total of 428 companies, including vehicle dealers, logistics systems and forklift dealers, parts distributors and rental/lease dealers, that it will conduct a spring traffic safety campaign from April 1 to 30, as part of the government’s nationwide traffic Safety campaign (which runs from April 6 to 15).

Toyota said the campaign will focus on preventing accidents involving preschoolers running out into the street, and promoting the use of rear seatbelts.

Specifically, Toyota will donate 2.63 million traffic safety picture books to children entering kindergartens and nursery schools nationwide, as well as 46,000 traffic safety storytelling card sets to kindergartens, nursery schools, libraries and children’s facilities throughout the country. In addition, the automaker has designed special leaflets to raise the awareness of both preschoolers and drivers regarding this year’s campaign themes.  These leaflets will be distributed via vehicle dealers, parts distributors and rental/lease dealers nationwide.

This year marks the 40th year that Toyota has been involved in these activities, which began in 1969, and to date the company has donated a total of some 118.51 million picture books and around 1.2 million traffic safety storytelling card sets.

A nice idea. When I remember some around 3 years ago I wanted to install rear seat belts in my Toyota Corolla Ban (400-Number) it was no so easy. Finally I could order them from a Toyota Dealer and installed them myself.
