It wasn't until Friday 18th, that MHLW took action to restore the medical supply chain, and then on Saturday 19th, Japan Medical Association requested pharmaceutical and other makers to provide supplies - 8 days late! This is in contrast to one of the handicapped peoples' associations or unions, who had list of addresses of all of their members, and started to locate them and take care of them straightaway. There is a lot that can be learned from this disaster, both for Japan and other countries, let's hope that people do.
