Named after the Brazillian hydroponic businessman, famous for his high pressure tactics - Hector Pasquales!

hectopascal—(Abbreviated hPa.) A hectopascal is equal to 100 pascals or 1 millibar.

Just in time for the imminent arrival of the nuke vessel!

From weather reports it seems Typhoon No. 13 is going to travel all over Japan.

Typhoon No. 13 also known as Typhoon "Pinball"

Look at the track it has made bouncing off of Taiwan, Southern Ryukyus so far. Pretty amazing. Probably has a few forecasters pulling their hair out.

    MrMukatsuku,

A hectopascal is equal to 100 pascals or 1 millibar

Great. Now, what is a millibar? (Mini bars I know, millibars... some kind of candy?)

And this time, can everyone please stay in a nice safe place? Hint: Your slippery tile roof is not safe in a typhoon.

    measure of force....

  • buzz at 09:22 AM JST - 19th September

Unit of measure when refering to air pressure. To keep it simple just remember anything over 1000mb is fair weather. Less than that denotes bad weather. In a typhoon the lower the air pressure at its center the stronger the winds.

  • Sanatan22 at 03:03 PM JST - 19th September

Slippery tile and straw roofs, low riverbanks and beaches are NOT safe places during a typhoon. But I bet that we will read again of some people washed away or thrown of roofs when the typhoon has passed. Some people just are, well... dumb, and are eliminated. The Darwin Awards web site gives lots of examples of this.

Or under that, with her parents' permission.

Uhhm....some14some.....you're off the mark many times, but this time....well, which weather report did you see? So far this typhoon hardly made a landfall anywhere. And MY report says it won't at all.

  • some14some at 10:33 PM JST - 19th September

roomtemperature: timing is most important when refering to weather condition, and if you notice my post is dated: 17th Sept and you are responding after 48 hours :) up to the mark, isn't it?
