Cool I hope he brings a real good gieger counter! Hopefully broadcast this live around the world in about 90 languages, to let the whole world know what stupid Tokyo Electric and these useless fools in the Japanese government are really up to.

Japanese officials will have good reason to be nervous especialy if Ban Ki Moon .is allowed to converse with citizens who have not been personaly selected by mediators. He may have a prefference to visit the children who wear monitors to detect just a fraction of the contamination they are being subjected to..

Christina O'neill - you make an excellent point. Ban's trip will be heavily orchestrated by the government and will have a very strong buffer against ordinary Japanese

As opposed to other world leaders who hang out at Saizeriya and ride the Yamanote.

I am Kettle (UN), this is Pot (TEPCO), he is black (overpaid buffoons who are totally incompetent when the going gets tough, manages to charge a hefty sum for their services from the Japanese people despite its clear lack of respect for them)

I think he will be impressed with Japan's safety measures. His homeland across the pond has loads of dodgy nuclear reactors in much less safe conditions.
