dependable indeed - who could argue otherwise?

Very hard to make very tight friends here, so what are these people basing their opinions on? I get a kick out of the place, but not dependable. They are not allowed to carry bullets in the self defence force, and cannot shoot at pirates unless shot at first, so the pirates know not to shoot at them. Duh

It's soooooo heartwarming to see US-Japan relations on the up and up.

  • Nessie at 04:41 PM JST - 19th May

Wonder what percent of Americans think America is a dependable country.

Say...the information on these surveys is getting better, but we still have no geographic info on the sample, no info on how the sample was selected, so we really can't generalize this to include the US public.

I have my own study: 80% of Americans think Japan is a city in China

I'm happy that the US is showing increased interest and better opinion in Japan as a whole, but what are they more 'dependable' on? Just a question -- that's not insinuating anything (for those quick to assume I might be bashing the country). What were the criteria?

  • Nessie at 07:11 PM JST - 19th May

It was a typo -- they meant "deep-endable".

  • nandakandamanda at 07:21 PM JST - 19th May

    Heavily doctored (selective?) article.

The last sentence for example, is missing the percentage for the general population.

And at the beginning, although US 'public' confidence in Japan is said to be going up, the confidence of the 'influential group' towards Japan is stated to be actually going down slightly. (See 2nd para)

Not too far off the mark. Several people I have come across thought that Japan was a province of China. In-bred folks, yee-haa!

"And some people pretend to believe that Japan's whaling activities are causing it's international image grave damage?" Gee,yes,I bet that came into consideration! lol....I'm sure there were a few more serious issues than that somehow.

I agree with that. And those same people think "Europe" is one country.

Hmmm, glad to know Japan Haters are living in Japan....Gaijin are what make Japan so wonderful, you know, with all the hate and bad-mouthing they bring into the country - as proven by the above posts.

Ahh gee whiz thx for not telling us(folks who critisize yr beloved Jpn)that if we dont like to leave, very gracious of you! Perhaps yr just super happy watching LDP etc running Jpn into the ground many of us gaijin see Jpn instead of improving herself instead keeps shooting`er feet off all the time & come on, JT puts all these bad bad kyodo clips on here so we can sound off & oblige them with the hits they need.

Fuse, again just wanted to say thx for not telling us to leave if we dont like some things ha ha
