forget guards at Narita. All they need are sheep dogs to funnel them into the planes for their 3-day "vacations"

Pukey - Tee hee! Me too! But I still have to pay 18,000 yen for the freakin' fuel surcharge! Grrrrrr!

which is why I go on summer vacation within Japan. August is now a triple whammy - fuel surcharge, expensive basic airfare and the number of people.

Once again, as always, the mass exodus oif Japanese citizens out of Japan. And really now, can you blame them ? This summer here has been one of the most godawful experiences I can remember ! The heat, the crowds, the rain, the noise. There is absolutely no peace in Japan. The people are noisy, even when they don't have to be. And with the way prices of goods and services have shot through the roof, well trust me, them hard earned yen will go a lot further overseas, especially in the USA where things are affordable.

Mine was 26,000. Still, it's good to be out of the heat of Japan. I wore a jacket this week, the first time in months.

Now I'm envious. I'm stuck in an apartment which is hotter inside than outside.

Same. Had the air-con on 24-7 but now my throat hurts, so it's on only when I'm sleeping, and that will be hard tonight what with Japan (not Tani, Japan) winning the bronze medal and all the excitement.
Anyway, if you're not fleeing beautiful Japan like many others, you have to become one with sweat. Sweat, sweat and more sweat, the beauty of one of Japan's four seasons.
