WAKAYAMA —
A wild boar that ran amok in downtown Wakayama last weekend was found dead Tuesday night near railroad tracks, police said, adding that it was apparently hit by a train.
At around 4 p.m. Tuesday, a passerby called police saying a boar was walking near a Nankai Railway crossing. The 1-meter boar was last seen at around 8 p.m., when it fled from dozens of officers. It was found dead about an hour later. Police had been hunting the boar since it attacked three people on Saturday night and early Sunday.

Cops can't go around discharging firearms at a pig. Suppose a stray bullet hits someone? The cops have pistols, hardly suitable for humanely taking down a boar.

Or accurately. I am with you knackerz, hard to believe people who want to destroy the house to kill a mosquito.
My town had a bear cub wander in one time. People scared it up a tree. Then when it finally came down the cops took it down with rifles. Much more dangerous than the bear cub. Happily, one of the officers decided to make sure the cub was dead, placed his foot on it, pulled out his gun, and shot his own foot! A nice little bit of justice there.

Obvious suicide. The boar knew that he absolutly no chance of hiding from the estute J-cops and decided to end it all.

Poor thing. After being chased all over the place it was probably in a panic and didn't see the train coming.

This little piggy went to... According to a local eye witness, the inoshishi was staggering about and stopped to urinate on the tracks. He was struck by a local express train before the the police could charge him with public indecency.

if mr piggy had his tusks removed and a snout-job he could have eluded the cops for at least another 2 years.

I wonder if it removed its hooves first...

Gotta give the Japanese an 'A' for ingenuity. Hunting wild bore with a train? I never would have thought of that.

Junior Policeman: "There I was boss! Face to face with the boar! I drew my pistol and fired 6 rounds at POINT BLANK RANGE, reloaded another 6, and fired at POINT BLANK RANGE again!"
Senior Policeman: "Then what happened?"
Junior Policeman: "It ran away!"

I almsot thought this was a REAL comment...
I get it... Good one... I almost thought this person was for real....
Cops can't go around shooting wild dangerous animals... Ha ha ha...! In some country town out in the middle of no-where... But they are completely OK with firing warning shoots in front of Roppongi Hills with thousands of people walking around... Ha ha ha ha
