A 40-year-old woman and her one-year-old daughter died Thursday after a fire destroyed their home in Okegawa, Saitama prefecture.
According to police, a neighbor called 110 after seeing thick smoke coming from the second floor of the two-story house at around 7:30 a.m., Sankei reported. It took firefighters about one hour to extinguish the blaze.
Police said the two bodies were found on the second floor. The woman, her husband and their daughter lived in the house with her 74-year-old father who was able to escape from the house uninjured. The woman's husband was away on a business trip.

Thats too sad. The woman and child suffered, and the husband lost both his wife and young daughter. It was a good thing that the 74yr old escaped.
