I'm assuming that the RV is not a camping RV, but what we would consider an "SUV"? At any rate, what a tragedy. The "RV" driver was obviously going too fast for the road conditions... probably thought he/she was invincible in a 4WD RV/SUV.

No its probably a RV, lots of them in the area. Many like to use them at the slopes as well. Sadly the people that drive them think they are driving a Porsche.

From the article- after the car they were traveling in collided head-on with an RV on a snowy road

Interesting wording. You put the car as the subject and it sounds like they were in the wrong. Clearly the opposite is the case.

The Recreational Vehicle, a Toyota Hilux (or similar) drifted into the wrong lane after the driver (a 21 year-old male) lost control. He has been arrested and charged under the road safety act with dangerous driving resulting in death (translation is approximate). As noted by Tahoochi, the four-wheel drive gives a false sense of over-confidence.

Or maybe this is another problem with the Toyotas

"The Recreational Vehicle, a Toyota Hilux (or similar) drifted into the wrong lane"

It has been recently reported that some Toyotas are experiencing "drifting" or "loose handling" issues. lets hope this is not the case- no sense in throwing gasoline onto an already raging fire at Toyota.

    Well, as I was saying-

"Torrance - New problems for Toyota: The Japanese car manufacturer has to recall in the US about 8000 vehicles of its pick-up-model Tacoma due to problems with the front drive-shaft [...] In the worst case the front drive-shaft can rapture and touch the ground, which causes the driver to lose control over the vehicle."

Unbelievable- another recall for Toyota ! Now it's "drive shaft" problems that can "cause the driver to lose control"- Is there no end ?
