What perfect timing! The Japanese nuclear program never fails to deliver...

They have got to be joking, right? Where do they find these guys? Obviously professionals!

Ha ha, I knew the 'biased against Japan' crowd would leap on this one. Needless to say, this is what you call a legitimate accident. Surely this radiation exposure is the result of a combination of negligence, poor training, or other factors. Yet just as sure is that it happened in real time, at once and is entirely traceable, unlike a submarine leaking radioactive fluid for 2 years and only discovered by chance.
But let me guess, this is time to criticize the entire Japanese nuclear industry, paint them all and the industry in a broad brush from this incident, while if such things happen elsewhere it's 'no big deal.' Double standards as always my friends.

who said biased against japan? you seem to jump to japan's rescue every time they screw up. what we are saying, and have been saying, is that with japan's really pitiful nuclear record (which, given what they are doing as far as "safety" is concerned, surprisingly doesn't involve an explosion), should not be screaming about the safety of the US nuclear ships like they are. we have a fire on a ship, which is a fairly regular occurance on ships, period, and they are crying about the nuclear safety. who are the ones who had underage inspectors in their power plants? who are the ones who are regularly leaking things like radioactive steam and heavy water into the wild? who are the ones who cover up any accident they can? it isn't the americans. and by the way, it isn't a legitimate accident if you screw up the procedure. that's called negligence.

Who needs terrorists? Japan has incompetents! Double standards? No! Just repeated, and repeated incompetence! More like "biased towards following IAEA procedures" not "'biased against Japan." How long before these morons cause high numbers of deaths and radiation contamination? Remember they have 2 manuals. One they follow and one they SHOULD follow! One legitimate accident in the nuclear industry is one too many!

57 and 52...let some younger, more astute guys who have not been exposed to the perils of working a nuke plant job for the last 30 years handle the dangerous goods. gee, two hungover old oyajis? bad news.
