Kokuyo Furniture has released an office chair perfect for workplaces where personnel spend more time at meetings or out of the office. The product is equipped with a tray under the seat where bags and work material can be stored for swift action when leaving the chair. ACTINA, as it is called, is designed for open offices and meeting rooms with limited storage space. The back of the chair comes with a jacket hanger.
Price: from 73,290 yen. Kokuyo anticipates 500 million yen in sales in the first year.

What's this? A chair with a shelf for oh, $700? WHY are chairs so expensive here? I bought mine from Metropolitan's classifieds...a company going out of business selling similar chairs sans "shelf" for only ichi-man. SO frustrating, these chairs. Either cheap little bits of trash with no ergonomics, or overpriced ones. Support the classifieds, people! Oh, the shelf is a good idea, I agree. God knows we all need more storage space anywhere we can get it!

That's actually a pretty normal price for a decent office chair. It's not surprising to see office chairs in the $1000s.

That's asking price, office chairs usually sell for 1/2 the retail price if you go through an authorized vendor.

....but so many japanese salary guys and women wear long coats in the winter. So maybe if this chair came with a sky hook, jackets would not be dragging all over the floor. at that price, they can throw the sky hook as an extra.
