Bra wars

Bra wars

UNIQLO has developed a new lineup of wireless bras for spring. The company said its research showed that the majority of women don’t really like wired bras since they are not comfortable to wear. The new products come in four types: soft, light, dry-mesh, and sport type. All are 1,990 yen.

You can purchase them at any UNIQLO store, except for the sport type which will be released from April (although it can be bought online now).  UNIQLO is aiming to hit 300 million yen in domestic sales for wireless bras this spring and summer.

Uniqlo uses smartly "Wireless Bra" making Japanese female consumers believe they can wear this bar and access the internet wirelessly (Just kidding) I know the function of this bra. Imaginary power is a final marketing tool for nay consumer good service firms ... I vote you "AAA" Uniqlo ... for this new bra brand ... sophisticated female consumers must use sophisticated goods ...

Tokyo's weather is still cool, even the spring is coming. Uniqlo has already released new products for Spring Collection ...

But they already had those last year and, yes, they are very comfortable to wear especially the sports one.

How about they make a bra that doesn't have an inch of padding inserted in it next? I want a bra, not a bullet-proof vest.

Most J-girls wear an underwire for its padding. This isn't what an underwire was designed for.

I may ask my lady which kind of bra she likes best ... she may answer - comfort is a first priority, then sexuality is a second ...

this is only for Japanese market,,,,as most are only A or AA cup, so dont really need a bra with a wire western women have other issues so need wires I agree with you Monkeys,,,,a bra for a normal bust size is hard to find in Japan without the padding to make you suddenly look like a size F!!

monkeys , try Peach John, they have a better range

mrskit is right - I am pretty small by western standards, but even I can`t get into these ridiculously small Japanese bras, and the ones without underwiring just make you look like aq battering ram. Give me the wire any day just for the shape.

Sorry - my boobs have done the job nature designed them for, and now I am just interested in looking HOT! I have EARNED the right after 3 kids!

it is mrs kit , not mr skit ! ha ha Mia mum, same here, after breastfeeding, bras are for support, and uplifting but Japanese bras are crazy, i feel like they are all training bras with toooo much padding!

as most are only A or AA cup

LOL. You do realize there are larger sizes, right? You should ask the staff what size you are in Japan. She'll hook you up.

Meh, as long as it has a good 3 inches of padding in it it will sell well....

Outdoor activities and breathing skin make companies to sell more "wireless bras" .... women know how to make their comfort and healthy with new products ... Aesthetic matters can help consumers make a right choice at store ...

Japanese bras always size up, for starters, so for example if you are a B in the west, you will be minimum a C here. If you are anything over a western DD, you won`t have much luck.

Next they are often designed for an "Asian" rib cage, which tends to be narrower than ours.

They also pad far too much on the outside edge of the cup, which has the effect of squeezing them together - fine if you have nothing much to start with, but very uncomfortable if you do.

If the pads are removable, then they are not quite so bad.

If you are pregnant/breastfeeding, maternity underwear is shocking and seems to be based on the principle that you have already been knocked up once, so lets make damn sure no-one will ever get the urge to knock you up again.

Uniqlo needs to come up with, say, see through, very light on the padding, bras that are edible, strawberry, etc...this would make a lovely Bra war in my book!

    Have you tried Nissen?

    lol!

agree with everyone else though. Japan isn't very friendly to those who are bigger busted. My best friend who is Japanese wears a size F in the US sizes it's impossible for her to find bras in Japan that are pretty or have enough padding to shape the breast. Many bras that fit bigger busts in Japan are very expensive and have zero padding causing the bra to be pointed instead of rounded. Whenever I make trips back home I look for bras for her so it's not just foreigners who can't find bras in japan. it's the busty girls too and yes they do exist.

Again, you do realize that there are many sizes for "under" measurements. The smallest is 65cm but goes up in 5cm increments.

    bicultural-

assuming you're a guy, and i praise your knowledge about Japanese bra sizes and etc :)

well, it IS actually true that it's much easier to find smaller sizes here in Japan and when you have large breasts, it isn't always easy to find the one that actually fits nicely.

i always go to the same store to get bras.. was hard to find the good place to shop for bras but once i found it, i am sticking to that particular store!!!! :))

sure, there ARE large sizes, but like UsagitoSaru said,

causing the bra to be pointed instead of rounded.

this is true.. based on my own experience..

    No comment here.

My wife was rather well endowed for a japanese and she found her size ok.

Said that got way more experience in removing those rather than fitting them. :p

well well, arent you giving too many compliments to yourself.

I cannot imagine that an ugly bra from Uniqlo can stir the imagination even of a sex deprived man. JT is advertising clothes and underwear from UNIQLo but JT should not do so because we can imagine that it is as cheap as a cheap uniqlo bra.

wired bras are ok as long as they to not irritate the skin. This company researchers are worthless. Obviously they do not know about law of gravitation.

When I walk through the women's section to get to the men's section I see a ton of E-cup, I-cup, J-cup that look HUGE and likely would even be too big for a good deal of the "standard C" cups in the west. But then again, Japanese women aren't so much into tattoos and breast enhancement like the western women seem to be all agog for.

But who the heck WEARS a J-cup anyway? And what is the equivalent N.A. size?

Also, bigger than the cup size issue is the cage size. Japanese women are VERY narrow through the cage. When I go back to N.A. for a visit I am always astounded (shocked) at how "thick" N.A. women are from front to back (UNDER the bust). The ribcage of western women is a LOT bigger than the Japanese women.
