Casio camera with touch screen

Casio camera with touch screen

TOKYO —

Casio’s new camera features an LCD touch screen that allows users to adjust focus and snap a photo with a quick tap. It also has an HDR (high dynamic range) feature that adjusts exposure for a perfect light and dark balance. The camera is 22.6 mm thick and is equipped with an 8Xoptical zoom lens. It is the first Casio camera with a touch screen to be sold in Japan.

Am I the only one who hates touch screens? Whenever I pick up my smartphone, I accidently trigger some unintended function. Further, if the sun is shining, won't the screen be hard to see? Stick to dials and switches.

I agree with you about the smartphone. I use an android, which has you slide your finger in a curve across the screen to unlock it, and that prevents most accidental option changing, etc. but features seem to randomly turn themselves off and on and the virtual keyboard - which I thought would be so much easier than a standard cellphone number pad - is horrendous. The M is located right next to the delete button and touching the wrong place, even by just a tiny margin, can have you accidentally deleting whole sentences.
