Casio compact digital camera

Casio compact digital camera

Casio is marketing the EXILIM G, a new product line of shock, dust and water resistant compact digital cameras. The first version to be released is the world’s thinnest shockproof EX-G1.

The product comes with the same features as the shock-resistant G-SHOCK watch; Casio will take full advantage of the “G” line brand name in promoting the camera.

The price is open but expected to be approximately 40,000 yen. 50,000 units will go on sale globally. Two colors are available: black and red.

I look for this to cost a lot cheaper in the U.S.. Japanese consumers have been obscenely overpaying for years for their own country's digital cameras. Apparently they don't mind doing that.

The actual price is much less than what it says in the article.

Black is not a color. Looks like a nice little unit though.

no mention of Megapixels, other basic specs. I need one of these. Olympus makes good waterproof and shockproof cameras too.
