Coffee Jelly Frappuccino

Coffee Jelly Frappuccino

Starbucks Coffee Japan introduces a new product exclusively for the Japanese market. Coffee Jelly Frappuccino features coffee jelly made of Italian roast. Starbucks is marketing the new frappuccino as “coffee to eat” because of its unique texture of jelly and coffee.

Here's one you won't see the expats drinking. This looks like a science experiment.

I tasted it: it's frappucciono + unknown jelly. The taste is double: frappucciono + unknown jelly, that is, the tastes doesn't mix since the jelly doesn't melt down. I don't see the point nor the interest. When takoyaki frappuccino?

great observation there, "frappuccino + unknown jelly". That about sums up a lot of the experiments popping out of the Japanese foreign food kaleidoscope. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of it being jelly? Jelly is an alternative way to enjoy a beverage in a solid form. Bleh...

There's already Coffee Jelly Frap in the Philippines. So I don't think it's exclusively for Japan.
