Device detects your fatigue, reduces risk of a drowsy driving accident

Thanko's new device Eye-Catch-Pre-Crash-Alarm is able to detect your fatigue while you drive and it prevents you from dozing off at the wheel.

Eye-Catch-Pre-Crash-Alarm analyzes the distance between your top eyelid and bottom eyelid and can see whether your eyes are closed through face-recognition technology and the patented mesh membrane pupil detection technology.

Set the device to face you. Once it detects that you are not paying attention to driving, it starts telling you "Focus on driving!" in loud Japanese. Even when you wear glasses or shades or you are in dark, it will know if you are drowsy or looking away.

Especially for long-distance drivers, lessen the risk of a drowsy driving accident for yourself. The video below shows how Eye-Catch-Pre-Crash-Alarm works.

Price: 59,800 yen Size: 92x30x85mm Weight: 103g

Rather this than a nagging wife?

Good job! introduce a device that can save a lot lives and then charge a ridiculous amount of money for it so no one will buy it. Thanks guys!

Let's face it, this is not going to happen often.

Nice idea, bad price. But really, if you have to install it, should you be driving? I don't think there's an excuse for being behind the wheel when you're tired. I've pulled over often enough on long hauls and either rested for 30 minutes or got out of the car for a walk in brisk fresh air - both are better treatments than an expensive machine that shouts at you. Whatever happened to common sense and responsibility? I'll be darned if I leave mine up to a machine.

@Trevor There are plenty of excuses to drive tired. What if you're called into the office in the middle of the night or you work the late shift and have a long drive home?
