Panasonic is going to release new digital camera LUMIX CM1 that can also be used as a SIM-free Android 4.4 smartphone (Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor).
It will be available for about ¥120,000 on March 12 in a limited quantity - 2,000 units ONLY.
As a camera, LUMIX CM1 equips an effective 20.1MP 1-inch MOS sensor and a LEICA DC ELMARIT 28mm f/2.8 ASPH lens. There is a control ring that allows you to adjust the shutter speed and diaphragm. It supports shooting 4K photos. Size: 135.4x68.0x21.1mm Weight: 204g including memory card and SIM

It was released in Europe last year and the US very recently.
These sorts of camera/phone hybrids are definitely the future.

Stunning looking phone, and pleased to see the CNET review was almost entirely positive. No doubt there will be bunches of people saying "but my S5 can..." and "but my iphone6 does...", but they neednt worry - the 2000 they sell here are all probably already pre-ordered

Telephones are now universally sold with cameras included. I have often wondered why cameras did not come with a phone included.
