Casio Computer Co will release the XD-K4800 and 14 other models in the EX-word line, the leader in market share for electronic dictionaries, on Jan 23.
Designed for high school students, the new XD-K4800 is packed with helpful content for English conversation.
All 15 models contain an “English conversation scenario training” function, which allows users to recite built in dialogue-style conversations and listen to native pronunciation. The dictionaries help improve English conversation by recording and comparing a user’s own voice to a native speaker.
The new dictionaries also include the following features:
· 30% larger keyboard area, (compared to conventional XD-U4800) for easy typing · New storage space for the touch-pen at the top of the product – previously positioned on the backside · 200,000 words spoken by a native speaker in 4 models containing Kenkyusha's English-Japanese Dictionary for the General Reader · 9 models for foreign language experts in English, German, French, Chinese, Italian, Spanish, Korean, Russian, and Portuguese · 1 model for professionals in physics and chemistry

SenseNotSoCommon
Congratulations to Casio on innovating to retain a market: high school students using smartphone apps would be frowned upon.
But is the physics and chemistry unit prone to undercutting by a killer app?
