By Yoriko Takahashi

Canon officially will release new mirrorless camera EOS M2 from their EOS M series in mid-December.

Canon has developed the advanced autofocus technology Hybrid CMOS AF II (EOS Kiss X7 has it too) and used it for EOS M2 to make the AF performance substantially improved compared with its previous model EOS M.

It has the image processor (DIGIC 5) and 18 mega pixel APS-C image sensor built-in, which the previous model EOS M also has. EOS M has a problem that its display goes black for 2 seconds after you press the shutter button, but Canon cleared the problem for new EOS M2.

  • 4.6 fps continuous shooting
  • ISO sensitivity up to ISO 12800 (ISO 25600 extended)

Whats the max aperture for the EF-M18-55 IS?

For a bit more, you can get a proper DSLR with the same image processor.

By the way, this article needs and editor to give it a once over. The writing is a bit off.

The fact that they didn't bother to release any new lenses at all with the M2 shows Canon doesn't really care about the mirrorless market.
