What decade is this??? Who buys an FM/AM radio in 2011? Is this sold only to people over the age of 80 or under 8?
The mind is thoroughly boggled. There's so many ways to consume music that buying a 3500yen radio these days is like communicating with your family via telegram.

Nagoya's Radio-i is a really good station. I would easily rank it as one of the best stations in the world. It is a shame that they don't do web streaming or even better, they should broadcast nationwide.

pawatan, I always take a similar radio when I go fishing or camping. It is important to get updated weather forecasts even in 2011. Very often there is no reception for cellphones in these areas eventhough we are in 2011.

my wife listens to the radio whenever she's in the kitchen. NHK and Osaka stations. She uses an iPod when out and about. Her favorite is FM Cocolo (Osaka) which plays very good music.

IPODS are cool, my nano has a radio too, but these Sonys are radios, fine, but as many here posted, radio in Japan suck big time, if you can even LISTEN to them, here in Tokyo, my stupid Ipod only get reception when I get to Nakano or Shinjuku, after that the reception just goes down the drain, and I live here in TOKYO!! Why is the reception so horrible here in Japan???????

Wow, a radio AND a recorder. So, what, 60s? Anyway, I agree, Tokyo has a real lack of stations. No Jazz, no Classical Music, and no Alternative Radio...and no World Music. I guess I just miss Berkeley. Frankly, I get most of this music from the internet, but it's not the same. Wish there was more good Japanese music on...I know it is out there somewhere. NHK for me in general.
