Well, "rare cheese" is really just a Japanized English term for cream cheese, so if you think about it, this is not all that much different from a cremesicle, which is orange and cream (or, err, creme). It's the use of the term "rare cheese", which conjures up something completely different in standard English, that throws it off.

I thought it was for "Layer" as in layer cheese cake. But what ever the case may be, scared to try it.

sk4ek: I hope you're correct about the particular cheese used.

I used to think it was "layer" too... but now, partly based on the katakana spelling, I think it just refers to a cheesecake that is chilled rather than baked, hence "rare".

Mascarpone cheese makes a really nice cheese with fruit/pastries, cream cheese possibly, like the cheesecake on the lable-- could be they may be going for a cheesecake or orange cremesickle flavor.

@sk4ek....I used to think the same thing you did but then realized it was meant to signify a cheesecake that was indeed chilled (and usually has gelatin added) rather than baked. But I dislike the term "rare" in this case.

Always find Tropicana's juices are too much on the sweet side. Have to dilute it with water or with ice.

I also used to think it was "layer." Later found out it is "rare," as in "uncooked." "Rare cheesecake" is kind of a Japanese-style cheesecake with a lot of gelatin in it and a more lemony flavor. I don't prefer it to REAL (read: NY style) cheesecake, but it can do the job in a pinch.

But not in beverage form. That's just gross.
