Love Fanta, and green apple is the most fantastic of soda flavors.

The Green Apple is probably good, but I wish Fanta would make root beer. Can't get root beer hardly anywhere. I don't know who told Japanese people that root beer tastes like medicine, but it's not true!

If it's one of the most popular flavors, why is it only being released for a limited time?

I've never understood this tendency to limit sales of otherwise non-season-dependent, processed foods to certain times of the year.

The least they could do is announce the day that they're gong to stop producing it, so that the people who come to like it (they are hoping to create such people, aren't they?) can stock up before it disappears from the shelves.

I love root beer, but that's just not likely... For any Japan soda branch, I think.

for god sakes people! root beer floats have NO ICE! that is a japanese invention, and a poor one at that. as far as the green apple fanta, it is kinda nonsensical to make it seasonal.

for that matter, raise your hand if you think it's obnoxious that artificially flavored products have to be seasonal in Japan! it's not like powdered flavoring has some kind of weather preference. come on, it's apple flavored soda, it's not so special.

donkeykongsenior - I agree. The question should be why is this even making the news headlines on JT.

Moderator: Because it is a new product and that's what the New Products section is for.

I actually like the whole seasonal thing, for the most part. It adds a little more intrigue to the brand. I loved to see the pink bags of plum chips hit the shelves. Sure you get a hankering for certain items and the unavailability of that snack can piss you off, but... the seasonal thing makes it seem more like Christmas or your birthday or something. Awesome!

seasonal? I guess you guys have never heard of USA mcdonald's MCRIB sandwich. The make the most money by releasing it only once a year--cuz they know people like me get all excited, eat it everyday before its gone, and that if they kept it on the menu--I'd slowly get tired of it and forget it. Most marketing is common sense, ya'all really that dense for this not to be obvious without me explainin'? Sheesh.

Now 300+ yen for a 1.5 though really makes me sick... :( Why can't it all be 99yen just like the good old US of A. Pop withdrawl and all in Japan cuz I can't afford it—the fault lies with Japanese for (1) being willing to pay so much (2) not drinking enough so that it becomes a once in a while expensive pleasure instead of a water replacement like in US. (What replacement nanode it's gotta be cheap yo.)

"We'll see about the "limited time" if it proves to be a hit.

It's still a soft drink, which is basically no good for you. If you're gonna drink soft drinks, make it root beer!

Moderator - how does one find the "New Products" section of the site? I can see this story listed in the "features" section but cannot find the "New Products" section unless you go into the specific item press release on the site and then use the "up one level" link at the top of the article.

Moderator: The New Products section is on the front page. It comes under the umbrella of Features. To see all stories in New Products, click More In New Products.

Let's not forget, probably the real amount of "Apple" in there is in the order of 0 Percent. Actually it is written on the bottle.
