Sega Toys Corp will release a home planetarium device in December. Home Star Extra is a planetarium projector for home use but is equipped with a lens for star-gazing. The projector was designed in collaboration with planetarium creator Takayuki Ohira who is in the Guinness Book of World Records for inventing “the world's most advanced planetarium projector” in 2004.

I had one as a child, but it didn't cost 58,000 yen. I made it out of half a broken world globe I was given using a pin and illuminated it with a torch inside

Must have been good though as it led to a Ph.D. in astrophysics.
