Yamaha’s new iPhone speaker system, the TSX-140, has a desktop audio system, 2 x 15W speakers, USB and iPod dock, touch-smart control, and iTune synchronization. On sale in early November for 38,000 yen.

    38,000 yen sounds like too much, and Weasel has a point, Bose should be better quality than Yamaha.

    What's the point of having a decent speaker system and playing your music on low quality mp3 files where the low quality become very apparent - exposed by good speakers? unless of course you play your ipod music in FLAC or another lossless codec, But 99% of punters don't.

    Don't believe me? play a mp3 song on good speakers, then play the same song on CD via the same speakers, switch between the two music sources and you can really hear how much richer CD audio is. Playing low bitrate mp3 on a good speakers is like putting low profile performance sports tires on a Toyota corolla...
