Krispy Kreme should have studied Japanese psyche before expanding into the market. Japanese like omiyage thats why people waited in lines when there was such a limited number of stores around. Now, they opened branches in almost all major stations in Tokyo and Yokohama and ...people are not buying. Most of the stores are almost empty and none of the famous queue anymore.

Surprised that KK is still around considering it's practically gone in the States...

Curious about the snowman, but not enough to buy one. Too many calories.

The doughnuts look very cute and delicious!! I don’t know the Krispy Kreme doughnuts store. Is there anything else that doughnut looks cute? It is not in Okinawa is it? I like sweets very much I want to try to eat it. Is it possible that I sent away for it?

KK went under in Canada last year. I went to the Akasaka branch on Sunday at noon two weeks back and there wasn't one person there. Bye-bye, KK.

Watched a staff decorate before. She actually took one at a time and decorated it by hand. Each one took her 1-2 minutes. Doesn't seem like that much time but that dozen would take her 12 minutes or more to make. She had 3 colors of icing, each in their own cold storage ice container. She took the fist one, dried it off. Used it. Then put it back. Took out the next color and did the same thing, drying it off and using it the putting it back. Then came the scale then the final color. Scale again and then sprinkles while on the scale. A human robot. It was amazing. No one would believe me. But true. Why brainless people wait in lines for airy donuts is beyond me. The new York donut shop inside shinjuku station is so much better.

Canada?? I'm not surprised at all. As for the Akasaka store maybe that particular store or you were visiting during a slow day. I have been in a few Mr. Donuts that were God awfully empty on certain days, but overall KK is doing quite well in japan, stocks are pretty good, so I wouldn't say "bye-bye," more like big welcome or come on down!!!

It looks very cute! The doughnuts of Snowman is nice:) It will delight the children. I want to buy it and to eat, but 2000 yen is experience for me. I had never eaten Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Japan (KDDJ). It's nothing in Okinawa. If it will make KDDJ in Okinawa, I request my mother to buy this cute doughnuts box.

KK's strategy for its stores, especially big ones like the one in Shinjuku and maybe even the Yurakucho one, is to be inefficient on purpose. There's no reason why it should take that long just to buy donuts. They purposely slow things down, hold up the line, and hope to attract more people's attention by having them think since the line is so long, it must be a hot item. Every time i have tried the Shinjuku shop, the shop workers are so slow and take their dam sweet time.
