Relaxing on a comfortable sofa with my beloved partner and watching a movie on this new TV set can be an ideal romantic night with some red wine and home-made sushi .... 200,000 yen is not too expensive ...

200.000 yen
Is still a good chunk out of the average paycheck here. Heck many people only earn 300.000 a month, etc here.

After much comparison, I got a Regza (42 in.) rather than a Sony Bravia. I thought (and still think) Sony has the superior imaging/picture technology, at least from what I saw in the showroom, but they're just priced too high. Oddly enough, the Aquos line from Sharp has never impressed me, despite Sharp's reputation for leading-edge imaging technology. The Regza also allows you to easily daisy-chain multiple external hard disk drives if you don't want to be reliant only on the built-in storage or your DVD/blue-ray player's memory.

Here in HK, Sony TV is losing the market to Samsung. I personally feel the Panasonic is the best quality.
