Bar a Leica IIIC I had since '05 Pentax Spotomatic I & the II models of 35mm only to various THREAD off/on LENSES was what I worked with for many yrs as a novice plus free-lance photo work in B&W only. Be interesting to see what Pentax offers in the new world if digital.

    Smythe:

I use a Pentax K10d. The optical quality of the lenses is very high as you'd expect. The K10 has noise problems at high iso due to it using a CCD rather than CMOS sensor.

The K-X has a CMOS sensor though so it should be better.

If you have any old pentax k-mount lenses they will work on any Pentax Digital SLR. Screw mount will need an adapter.

Noise comes from the three cameras I mentoned/used for with 35mm film it was press the shutter button & the focal plane shutter went about its noisy bit.

Doubt if my threaded in/out lenses, rather then ease of baynot type turning into the camera body or out, for the threading was a bit of a task & when changing a WA lens, first time I would use it in action, the lens fell to the rocks on the mountain side & down it went breaking up, still bought ANOTHER 26MM wide angle lens for the Spotomatic II.

Still thank you for the above bit of information as I will have to get into the new digital world & liked my retired Panasonic cameras the, but now batteries cannot be found for the light meter to also I wouls still be using 35mm colour film Digital will not.
