I have often used these type of radios but they are very susceptible to outside electrical interference. Try listening to one of these on the train and they noise will make you shriek. Why can't they make one that screens this out ?

Perhaps the "better" volume settings means it can go up to eleven, whereas before they could only go up to ten...
