No mention of exactly how it is radio controlled?

It picks up a radio signal to calibrate the time.
Analog thermometer face?? Do they mean a gauge? A clock dial?
Most electric clocks don't tick, they leave that to mechanical models....

ahh those, they are crap. just a dumb gimmick when you could set the time yourself.

I will be interested to know more & buy one. Japanese innovations are really well thought out.

"that uses an analog thermometer face" >> In addition to time, the clock includes an analogue display of temperature (and barometric pressure).

It's not an innovation. There's been radio controlled clocks for years and years. I see radio controlled watches all the time for sale.

Still working out why an electric clock second hand is making a ticking noise to begin with.

I hate those. In a places where the signal is week (my work) they are always not correct. Meaning they are off just few minutes but simple non radio controlled clocks are usually more precise with timekeeping. On top of that when signal doesn't work the set up is quite difficult - you have usually to hold button manually and wait for a full run of the hands - slow.
