Smartphone prevents kids from sending offensive words

au's new Android4.4 kids smartphone model - miraie KYL23 - politely warns kids not to send derogatory words in a message.

miraie KYL23 is made for kids in the 3rd to 6th grade age group by Kyocera, and will be released in late January.

Once the user starts typing Japanese words equivalent to swear words which have a possibility of hurting someone's feelings, a warning message will show up. The message says "Please wait! It might not be a good word to send. Do you still want to use it? If you use it, your parents will be informed that you have used the word."

In addition to functionality that allows parents to regulate applications, web browsing and hours of use, miraie KYL23 has a crime prevention buzzer function. In parallel with the buzzer starting by pressing a key at the side of the smartphone, it will automatically take 5 continuous photos and send them with the location information to the user's parents.

It's waterproof (IPX5/IPX7), dustproof (IP5X) and shockproof (MIL). It has a 4.5-inch display (540×960), MSM8926 Quad-core CPU (1.2GHz), 1.5GB memory, 8GB storage, 8MP camera, 2,000mAh battery.
