not a bad price, good for a laptop or TV.
APC's 8500 yen UPS is much better for protecting a desktop PC: http://kakaku.com/item/01401010095/
I have about 5 of these bad boys in use, worth every yen :)

I am definitely against surge taps. I am a proponent of natural lightning and natural lightning strikes on myself and others. Mostly others. So I can see it on video and stuff.

Don't they mean surge socket? I've never heard of an electrical socket being called a tap before?

saru au> you crazy I wouldn't buy for that price. Just by an APC Smart UPS 1000 or 1500 series for 2,000yen or there about on Yahoo Auction. I can gurantee even a 5 year old(200,000yen) UPS will be of better quality that a cheap consumer one.
