Wearable glass slippers

For any of you who have ever wished for your own fairy tale ending, for your Prince Charming to come and sweep you off your feet and carry you away to his kingdom, or if you ever simply wondered what it would be like to wear shoes made of a material that could potentially shatter and cut your feet to bits, well then, these real blown-glass, Cinderella-inspired slippers are just what you’ve been looking for.

These “Glass Slippers You Can Really Wear” are hand-crafted from blown glass by the artisans at Nakamura Glass Studio. Believe it or not, these master craftsmen are able to make these without the use of any molds or cutting, and it’s said that the process has taken almost eight years to perfect.

Sold in sizes 22.5, 23, 23.5, 24, and 24.5 cm, other sizes are also available for custom order. While these shoes unfortunately aren’t sold in pairs, each one is made to be wearable on either foot. Your rags-to-riches Cinderella dream will only set you back 86,400 yen per shoe. In which case, your story will probably see you go from riches to rags instead, but at least you’ll have the most coveted shoes on the street.

Now you can all stop waiting around for your fairy godmother and take matters into your own hands. There’s also no need to worry about missing out on the party because you’re stuck with a midnight curfew. Be a princess on your own terms!
