Kirin will launch a new drink early next year, called Wine Spritzer, which is white wine with soda water, especially popular in Europe.

The alcohol percent is 6%. Price: 148 yen for 350 ml can.

Unless Kirin's Lager Beer sales improve i don't see winewater is going to sell at this price.

So...sparkling wine cooler. The 1980s called and they want their panty remover back.

    Heaven help us!

    Wine spritzer!

Kirin has really gone down the tubes in recent years.

Ichiban shibori used to be good and they had a magnificent stout.

The stout was unique and sadly missed.

Maybe they are trying to push Suntory down from top position in the mediocrity ratings.

That's what my grandma used to drink, it is called 'Vin Vichy'. Unless they use real Vichy Celestins mineral water, it won't taste good.

Well, with shrinking budgets the regular beer market going down hill fast and getting hollowed out by third category biers, I guess beer cos had to try something.

I see the desperation and need to try something new.

How about adding to the growing "beer with taste" market.

Microbreweries boomed for a while, but crashed, probably because the major breweries "advised them on brewing techniques," and probably were behind the tasteless crap that was largely the product of "jibi-ru," factories. However, some held on and there are some excellent Japanese microbrews around.

Kirin EASILY has the skill, facilities and know how to product good, hand crafted beer.

There isn't a huge market. but it's growing.

Why don't they produce beers with taste, that would be a new thing!
