And there you have it ! The 100 medal mark has been busted and it's been done, once again, by team USA ! What an outstanding performance by the Americans. And looking at that cloud hanging over the Chinese womens gymnastics and the American teams poised for more gold medal round games, the US is going to make a serious run at the overall gold medal tally. And won't that be a painful pill to swallow if they do. Again, 100 medals at this here Olympics is way beyond the expectations by the USOC. Congratulations ! USA-USA-USA !

Keep dreaming. The baseball gold is slipping away from USA, fast. Cuba is currently 8 ahead and the game is ending soon!!!!!

Calculate the difference in gold medals between China and USA, and then calculate how many events are left. Then get back to me.

If gold medals are all that matter why do they have silver and bronze medals at all? Do you feel that the nations (most of them) that have won many medals but no gold medals shouldn't take pride in their athletes' achievements?

So how many medals has your country won? Did it even manage any double digits? Why don't YOU go calculate the difference in medals (any color) between your country and the USA. Then get back to me.

BooBug you make a god point about these other nations. When I look at the metal count chart I do first look at US and China totals, but then I go down the list and see what countries have medaled at all and I am certain even if a country has one bronze and nothing else there is s sense of pride because looking at the countries that some are so impoverished I feel for them that they have accomplished something that seems unimaginable for some of these countries. I am sure the people take great pride in a showing of competitiveness that gave them some shine in the eyes of turmoil and desperation..

I also agree with the events that are being judged and metals given out as for placement in events.. As with all Olympics there has been many scores that has shown favoritism and that goes with the gymnastics especially. Under aged or not, the judging was bias and besides that , China is a cheat when lying and making false passports of ages of competitors that are fake, what a bunch of goons they are and has always been. I hope it is found out just to tarnish more the chance to prove to the world that they are a society coming into the global arena, which they are not ready for because they are still a country based on deceit and lies, thanks to the leaders that try to control everything of every day life of the people and always projecting a false face and image. I find China just as it has always been in the past, nothing has changed mentally and is still a society based on the will formed by the government of doing anything to try and show they are of a elite race. Which they are no better than anyone else in the world, including a nation that has only taken one bronze metal. That is a real difference when wanting to take a place as a world power and that is respecting human beings and China does not!!!!!!!
