    So why are they in the Olympics instead of much higher ranked Thailand?

    And why isn't volleyball divided into height categories, like judo is divided into weight categories? You don't see 45kg judoka fighting 85kg judoka, why should some volleyball teams have a 10cm height advantage over other teams? Cripes, somebody beat the Russians already!

    Any Olympic host nation is guaranteed a spot in every sport where as long as they're assessed to be competitive enough. How do ya think host nations always see an increase in medals, because they have a horse in every race.
