Well done Japan....Keep it up

Sensational stuff! Tough for Japan to get through to a medal now, they lost to Team GB. I think the gold is the mighty Fijians to lose anyway, the rest are after the scraps.

Outstanding result for Japan and they got pretty close against GB too. NZ got caught with their pants down in game 1 but still very much a chance.

Upsets happen more in Rugby 7s

After all, the defending Olympic champion is the US, heheheheh

That's actually incredible, well done!

Never stop fighting, and you can do amazing things. Get job by the Japanese 7s. They may or may not make it to the medals, but they're doing a lot of the right things to make stronger opponents take them more seriously. Well done.

How many of Japan's team are actually 'Japanese' ?

To beat N.Z in any form of the game is a massive achievement. And as people have said, not far off beating the U.K.

Outstanding performance from Japan. Hope it translates to more Japanese playing rugby.

If NZ put their best team out each and every tourney it would be no contest but fortunately for World Rugby 7s is an after thought in NZ. Might not be after this disappointment, either the public will demand results or they will stay as apathetic as they are at present. Well done Japan but the media is over stating NZ's status in the sevens game.

NZ might still get through and win a medal, but it's not like the old days. The top 15s players just won't play 7s now.

NZ 7s would love to have the likes of Ben Smith, Beauden Barrett, Julian and Ardie Savea playing for them but all have opted for 15s instead.

Well done to Japan though. As with RWC 2015, I hope this means more interest in the game in Japan.

Watched the game via TV. Couldn't believe what I was seeing. Japan beating New Zealand at, of all sports, rugby!! Probably a good thing the games are so short time-wise ... 'cause playing a full-length regular rugby game would have seen a different result, I'm sure. And, yes, Japan did have some foreign-born players on their side. Anyway ... what a game ...

Great job! Although I saw after in the media that they narrowly lost to GB (not a bad result there, either!). I think they are right on the border to get through or not.

I feel Japanese people would like to forget they have multicultural rugby teams for Sevens and Union. I didn't see their captain from the WC in beer commercials. It's all been Goromaru. The better team won though. Just don't fantasise you beat the All Blacks, Japan. Any team can win in the 7s. That's the beauty of it.

He was doing other alcohol commercials "bigman" as well as other commercials. Try googling and you'll find them.
