well nice game...nothing to be ashamed of. The Mexican team just overwhelmed the Japanese team in everything. Go Mexico and beat Brazil!

Yeah, Mexico definitely deserved the win. Hope they can beat Brazil.

Actually, more interesting than the Brazil-Mexico final is the Japan-Korea bronze medal game. I'm thinking there might be a bit of passion there.

Was impressed by Otsu's play aside from the goal. He was having a go. Taking it to the Mexicans.Other talked up players like Nagai were basically invisible. But sloppy, careless play in conceding the second goal, though a beauty, caused Japan to never recover.

I'll b watching SK-Japan, too. With the hatred and disappointment in playing each other there could be fireworks

Send them home on donkeys and send the real women home business class. The women prevail AGAIN.

Would that make it better for you? I hope they remain calm and professional and give us a great game to watch now that much of the pressure has gone.

Yes, that was unforgivable and should not happen at this level of football.

Wow - the media had even me believe that the Japanese had already won gold! Good job anyway, a couple of so called "miracle" wins showed that Japan has progressed. I think the Japanese ladies will nab the gold though.

I agree with YongYang... send them on donkeys and the women in first class. Wow.... just the other day a sport commentator predicted that Japan would win 3-1 and of course we was wrong. He had his ego tide-up in a knot. Good job Mexico!!!!!

Japan played a decent basketball game. Their passes were not crisp enough to try in traffic, offence and defense were scattered. Mexico excelled on both sides of the ball, they hustled for every play while Japan's players seemed to wait around for that big play. Viva Mejico, muchas gracias por juego sensacional. Hasta la próxima japón.

Hope both finals games are charged with nice moments... by one side the regional rivality that prevails between Japan and South Korea and by the other side the continental pride that means to have the best of North America (Mexico) and the best of South America (Brazil) in the finals.. hope Mexico can beat Brazil... this could be awesome for my country

Looking forward to a great game between Japan and Korea! Hope it just doesn't turn out to be one full of fouls and referee misjudgments and instead good soccer between Asia's two big football powers.

Admittedly, most people here in Korea think Japan will win since the Blue Samurai have really upgraded their game and are on the rise while Korea is still struggling with firepower. But it should be an excellent game anyhow!

From what I read here, am I the only guy (Mexican BTW) who actually wanted Japan to win? They played really good at the begginning but Mexico then did better. Why is it that everyone here wants Mexico to beat Brazil?

To be honest, I'm a little surprised they got as far as they have. I don't mean that as any indication of their skill -- they have done very well -- but I thought some of the other competition would have taken them out by now. Anyway, great job, and a face-off with rivals SK is always fun!

@ojii oh that's me. "basketball game" was sarcasm at its worse I know it was a partida de futbol. @Wicho thanks for reminding me that I should just stick to opinion with sarcasmo al lado. By the way, Mexico seem to have brought out the latino in quite a few of you. For the record, I supported Japan, aunque soy latino y orgulloso.

Mexico deserved every single point they scored. They were out there hungry and played passionately. I kept thinking that the Samurai Blue forgot they were at the Olympics. I can't think of any serious word to describe Japan's poor performance....only lollygagging! LOL

Anyway, hope Mexico gets the gold. If they play with as much ferocity as they did against Japan it should be a great game!

Why is it that everyone here wants Mexico to beat Brazil?

I can't speak for everyone of course - but us Aussies have a tradition where we usually support the less favoured team - we call them the "underdog". Mexico is the underdog against the Samba boys - so go Mexico!

  • 0

    sourpuss

BrakuminDes, what is this "underdog" you speak of? And may I ask further, does this mean Brazil is a "derdog?"

  • 1

    Juan Carlos Barbosa Padilla

Normally underdog means about a competitor that is less valued than the others but become a formidable rival, in Mexico we called "caballo negro" (black horse).. by the way this team has a lot of stories to tell.. from the drama of the Copa America (where some players got removed due to a prostitute scandal and the goalkepper was suspended by fighting in the league semifinals) to the awesome yesterday's game, passing by the succesful gold in the Panamerican Games..
