Indeed, our team won. A lot more important than soccer, we should struggle to become the best in science, education, technology, culture and common wealth!
There's still a very long way to go. Daily fight never ends.
どもうありがとうございます!おやすみなさい!

That opening goal was too quick. I was stretching and settling in to watch and then... gooooaaaaaaal.

Eh? I was able to watch it live yesterday on NHK (channel 1). I just turned it on a little too late (3 minutes into the game) and was surprised to see it 1-0 in favor of Mexico. Overall, it was a pretty good game. Mexico's defense was just too powerful for the usually brilliant Brazilian offense to penetrate. The game was not so late as well (finished way before 1:00 am.)

Mexicans played some of the dirtiest soccer around. They had some good steals, but constant fouling and getting saved from a huge number of yellow cards. The brazilians on the other hand played some beautiful soccer, though their shooting aim was sub-par . At least the refs were a bit better this game, though still far too reluctant to call fouls and cards against Mexico and too quick to send them to Brazil. In fact, the second goal was directly from a foul that Brazil copied from an uncalled Mexican one just minutes before

Then why did Brazil have so many shots on goal? Brazil simply couldn't aim at all that game, the ball was more or less on the Mexican side in Brazilian possession for most of the game.

Stunned is an apt expression! Great game, Mexico! I especially enjoyed the Telemundo announcers way to call the goals! I understand he is quite the celebrity for his way of doing this! Viva Mexico!

NHK 1?? Sorry, I could not find it, and it does not help when too drunk, but I woke up with no hang over and one of my cousins emailing me the good news to my Viber on my Iphone that Mexico has just kicked some Brazilian butt! So, NHK or no NHK, now the Nike/Panasonic etc..will have to look for great soccer players not only in Brazil, but in Mexico too. By the way PELE, instead of congratulating the Mexican team, he said something nutty, sometimes the best team deserving to win blah, blah, blah, my guess that Viagra may be messing his old brains up??

Young Mexican teams have been on the ascendency - they've been winning medals the last several youth tournaments. Maybe the start of their golden generation, now that their boys finally getting experience playing outside Mexico.
