That's pretty damn accurate. So in the end Phelps won this by a considerable margin, given today's high tech society and information highways. I wonder if they could time my general attention span.

I am still not persuaded. If I pay another company to analyze the final, the results could be different. The Serbian is the real winner. It is sad that all the results are decided in favour of richer countries. :(

Princess - Your Serbian prince is not the real winner. Even he and his coaches admit it. He came in a real close second. He has nothing to be ashamed of. Phelps is a swimming machine.

ExPrinceska, Sorry the Serbian did not win. Please accept the fact graciously. Why? even the Serbian player and coach admitted that they lost to a very slight margin but still they conceded defeat. Calling somebody unfair just because you don't agree with the facts is not wise ei? Well, I do agree sometimes that results are often decided by richer countries, especially the host country but this is because there are judges to influence. In swimming? you are on your own baby. Sink or swim.

In 2008, Phelps won. The technology proved it, regardless of it being created by Omega or Casio. We seem to forget two days later the womens 50m freestyle was also decided by the same margin. But imagine 10, 20 years ago how these races were decided by people holding stop watches. If that were the case now, we'd truly be arguing for years!

What's classy -- an Olympic high point for me -- is that the 2nd place swimmer immediately made it clear that it was his team that had filed the protest, not he himself, and that he was satisfied with the judges' decision. He didn't dispute the call or dis Phelps or the timekeeps. Total class.
