umh ... i don't dare say which one i would prefer. Historically times of recession have always made for easier wins for the stronger demagogue Globally maybe the least radical would be better. Locally, in the long run, who knows? I always had this weird notion a democratic majority needs a 3/4th since an even 50/50 is more like a statistic pointing at a brewing civil war. Scary, a little, since the u.s. has so much influence on the whole of the world

"the outcome likely to come down to fall debates, final unemployment numbers"
The only way Obama can lose is if he makes several major gaffes AND if unemployment reaches 15%.

The liberal mainstream media's almost exclusive focus on and desperate, unflagging support Obama and his toxic brand of new leftism is going to result in slaughter for Democrat challengers in the House and Senate. With the rise of the net, twitter, YouTube, cable TV, talk radio, they know their era has passed. Now they are merely the court lapdogs of corrupt Democrat royalty.
