I gotta hand it to the former British colonies: when it comes to anti-tobacco measures being taken, they are VERY progressive. I truly hope that they are right and lead the way so that more and more countries follow suit.

And enough of the ads with lovely, vampish women and sexy, secret-agent type guys. The o'cancer stick is not glamorous. I would like to see an article about the success of non-smoking rules indoors (especially restaurants and bars) worldwide, as an incentive for Japan to go that way, too. So many places I would love to spend my money in, but the clouds of nicotine drive me away pronto. Time to de-glamorize this awful addiction. Ever see a smiling smoker as the suck it in? Didn't think so.

I am appalled by the hypocrisy of this. Smoking does nothing but harm to smokers and those around them, yet governments continue to reap huge revenues from it. Australia is merely requiring the merchants of death to put their murder in plain packages.
