Or...how about not having the summer and winter Olympics every 4 years but every 8? That may make people more interested in watching and going to the host cities again.

Or don't watch it. I only dip in and out, and then only watch events where a UK competitor could win a gold... such as Chris Hoy, Champion of the World!

I love the Olympics and even watched "syncho" swimming this year. My only wish is that the sports are played by all amateur athletes.
Cut the "millionaires seeking gold" i.e. in basketball, send the best collegiate athletes vs LeBron and Kobe, trying to emulate the "Dream Team." America did it once in hockey and shocked Russia, hence "The Miracle on Ice." Let the kids have their moments on the world stage. These young kids watched the professionals all season, let the professionals take their turn in front the TV.

302 events in something like a little over two weeks. Great! For sports junkies like me the more the merrier. And for those opposed ... come on ... it's only for a short time ... and it comes only every 4 years. So just sit back and enjoy ...
But trying to see as much as possible in obscene hours of the day does take its toll on the sleep scene. But, hey, I've got 4 more years to rest up for the next big Olympics bash.
